is makehuman's better than blender to create characters? even in MMD and anime style?
I couldn't really say that it's better since that I haven't really tried modeling a character at all (I tried but it became a zombie lol). If you're knowledgable with blender and know how to sculpt or model etc. then do it. However if you're not then use makehuman 
it's a very powerful tool however you still need to work hard to make it look good (textures, hair, background etc)
For the question regarding anime styles, if you're talking about the heavt stylized anime (big eyes, pointy nose etc) makehuman is not that advisable (but they're actually making makeAnime but it's still productions away lol) since it's for anatomically correct humans. For semirealistic anime like final fantasy type or the one that I make, it might work. Hope it makes sense and hope it helps you
